A decade after the initial launch of LEED, on November 8, 2010, the USGBC released the next version of the rating systems. It is important that stakeholders engaged in green building take advantage of the public comment period open through January 14, 2011 (yes, the day after this program), and help refine the clarity, usability and functionality of the LEED rating systems, that have become the benchmark for third party green building certification and are tied widely to government regulation.  USGBC released five documents that total more than 1,000 pages, that are the first public comment drafts. This program will save you from reading the release.  By count, there are at least 78 major changes proposed from LEED 2009 New Construction, many of which are aligned with and common to the other rating systems, and we will discuss the most significant changes.
